Veteran Waypoints transforms a military service record into a cinematic, animated globe video showing every posting, deployment, and transfer across a career. It is a unique way to honor, remember, and share a veteran's journey.

You enter the veteran's postings - locations, dates, and units - using our guided form. We then render three cinematic videos (vertical for Reels/TikTok, square for Instagram, and widescreen for YouTube/Facebook) using GPU-accelerated 3D globe animation. You receive download links by email once rendering is complete.

To ensure you can correct any errors, you receive 2 free re-renders within 7 days of your first successful render. To prevent abuse, the veteran's name is locked once the first video is rendered and cannot be changed via the customer-facing UI (contact support for assistance). All other fields, postings, and details remain fully editable. Re-renders after the 7-day window or after exhausting your free allowance are available at a nominal price (AU$5 / £3 / US$4 / CA$5 depending on your region).

Every journey includes three video files: vertical 9:16 (ideal for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Stories), square 1:1 (perfect for Instagram feed posts), and widescreen 16:9 (great for YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn). All are rendered in high-definition.

Rendering typically takes 8-15 minutes depending on the number of postings. You can leave the page - we'll email you when your videos are ready to download.

We offer two tiers: Standard (1080p) and Premium (4K). Pricing varies by region. A portion of every purchase supports military charities. Visit the create page to see current pricing in your region.

Yes - and you have two options. Most gift-buyers create the journey directly using their veteran's details and present the finished video as the gift. If you would rather give a code that the recipient redeems themselves, dedicated gift cards are available - buy one from our gift page. Codes are valid for 36 months.

That is perfectly fine. Use approximate dates (month and year) and the nearest city or base name. The animation is designed to tell the story of a career - it does not need to be exact to be meaningful.

All journey data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and transmitted over TLS. We never share your data with third parties. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

Yes - that is what the videos are designed for! Each journey also has a unique shareable link with a live interactive globe that anyone can view in their browser.

Veteran Waypoints works for any military service from any country. Whether Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Special Forces - if you have the postings, we can map the journey.

The Still Serving Subscription is designed for personnel who are currently serving and want to keep their journey growing alongside their career. It includes a Premium 4K render and an annual update — once per year you can add new postings and re-render your journey in full 4K. The subscription continues for as long as you pay, so your journey can grow from regiment to regiment, or even from one service (such as the military) to another (such as the police or emergency services).

For security, all postings on a Still Serving Subscription journey must have an end date at least 6 months in the past. Any posting with no end date or a recent end date will be blocked at both the submission stage and the server. This ensures your journey never reveals your current or recent location. This 6-month rule is a Veteran Waypoints policy and does not constitute official security guidance from any government or military organisation. If you are in doubt, consult your unit's security officer.

Each year, after your subscription renews, your update slot resets and you can add new postings, update your unit details, and re-render your journey in 4K. You get one re-render per 12-month billing period. Your journey editor shows a countdown of days remaining until your next update is available, aligned with your subscription renewal date.

If you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period. After it ends, you have 30 days to download your video one final time via a secure, time-limited download link. After 30 days, video downloads are no longer available — but your journey page and interactive globe animation remain live permanently. Your video is yours to keep once downloaded.
